Can you breathe under water? Do you think it is possible? I do and here’s why.

Breathing under water is not humanly possible… or is it? And what do I mean by this?

I use this as a metaphor. Water is usually directly related to our emotions; it is the element of emotions. My question is what do you do when your emotions are overwhelming? How can you breathe when your emotions are so strong and dictate your state of mind and your decisions?

As Dr. Masaru Emoto’s research shows, human consciousness has an effect on the molecular structure of water, and vice-versa. Emoto said that water was a “blueprint for our reality” and that emotional “energies” and “vibrations” could change the physical structure of water. (from wikipedia)

This means that emotions can really affect water molecules and if we are made of 70–80% of water, then our emotions really affect our physical beings.

Let me share with you what I do when I feel overwhelmed with emotions :)

What I do is focus on RELAXING my emotions by UNDERSTANDING that pain and fear is what moves them, its their drive, and by understanding that they are in my body for a reason. The reason is solemnly to make me aware that something needs addressing. Emotions are like awareness signs being manifested in our conscious mind. When they get our attention we should look at them and understand the reason why they are coming up.

Without emotions we would not be able to perceive fear for instance. Fear is an instintual mechanist that is “produced” in our reptilian brain (our oldest brain) in order to make us aware that we are in danger. The flight or fight mechanism relates directly with fear and hence it is a tool we have developed to make us aware of danger and in that situation be ready to run, fight or freeze. This is what creates a sense of being able to control our lives and be able to live and procriate.

Now… what happens nowadays is that many times our fear is not justifiable or even real, and it is just a self defence mechanism overwhelming our bodies.

If you are able relax your emotions but understanding them and relax them through breathing techniques or a nice relaxing bath with epson salts and lavender essential oil, I believe you will feel much more empowered by your emotions and even be able to make friends with them. BREATHE and let your emotions settle rather than guide you. Do it today!
